More Ski Pictures
We posted all of the ski pictures that we have so far here in our web album. The weather yesterday was perfect, and we got lots of great pictures of Noah learning how to ski. We got some video, too — we’ll get that uploaded later.

Most of the crew took the day off from skiing. Steve and Jalyn needed the break, and Robyn woke up feeling pretty sick, so we tabled Noah’s skiing expedition until tomorrow. Fortunately, Robyn started feeling much better by mid-afternoon, and the weather outlook for tomorrow looks even better than it did today. Luke and I still spent most of the day on the slopes, though.
This afternoon, Noah took me to see the snowman that he built. If you look carefully, you can make out his three-tiered body and tree stick for a nose. The snow here doesn’t stick together very well — I guess this is what you would call dry snow (not that Texans know anything about it). Noah was obsessed with “chopping” the snow. The first few times he said that, I was a little confused. I eventually realized that it refers to his obsession with jumping into and messing up every single pristine mound of snow that he comes across. Watch the video below for some examples…
Well, we packed up yesterday and flew the whole family to Solitude ski resort, located just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. Robyn found us a nice little lodge here at the ski resort with plenty of room for the four of us, Steve, Jalyn, Granny Pearl, Luke and Charlee. The evening we got here, we stumbled across a rag-tag group of alphorn players. Anyone have any Ricola cough drops? Gabriel enjoyed the snowy outdoors well enough (he burrowed into Robyn’s shirt to keep warm). He hasn’t yet mastered the art of burrowing into the snow like his brother has.
The main event today was skiing, and Noah was pumped. I guarantee you that he’s got his daddy whipped in the coolness factor with all of the ski garb on. After a slightly trepidatious start, we dropped him off at 9:00 am for a full day of ski school. We saw him a few times on the slopes throughout the day, and all seemed well. We finally picked him up at 4:00, and he was all smiles. His teacher said he consistently wanted to stay on the slopes the longest. We’re all geared up for hitting the slopes again with him tomorrow.
Here’s the entire ski crew after a successful first day (the white lump is Gabriel).
Here’s some fun video of Gabriel and his idea of funny.
Well, Noah went to Ma and Cowboy’s for a couple of days for a visit. There are new baby goats that Noah wanted to go see. While Noah was down there, Gabriel and I were having a nice time doing laundry and taking some pictures.
Then the phone rang…
Noah got into a fight with a bar stool, and the bar stool won. So it was off to the Emergency Room for everyone (Ma, Cowboy, Granny Pearl, Noah, Mama, and Gabriel) Noah had his blood pressure taken like a big boy. He showed me some of the blood that got on his hands. Ma says he bled a lot.
He got a hospital bracelet, and got strapped down like a burrito. He didn’t care for being strapped down. He thought it might be better for Gabriel to be strapped down instead.
The doctor covered his face with a nice blue towel and stitched him right up (3 stitches). It’s a good thing blue is his favorite color.
And a big smile when it was over. Of course, he’s already threatening to pull the stitches out. It’s a good thing they only have to be in till Tuesday.

Luke and Charlee Granny Pearl… doesn’t she look nice? My sweet boys.
