Daddy and Noah had a “camp out” in our backyard last night. Gabriel and Mama stayed in the house. We put up the tent and put every blanket we own inside it. Daddy and Noah had nice, soft, warm beds. Noah wore two pairs of pajamas, two pairs of socks, and a robe. Mama even sent the space heater outside with the boys, but they didn’t need it. Of course, the one night my family is camped out in the back yard we get rain. Isn’t that how it goes? No rain for months, but sleep outside and you’ll get rain. So now, I’ve got lots of laundry to do. Like I said, every blanket we own was in that tent. Did I mention that our tent is not 100% waterproof? But Daddy said it held up better this time than it did the last time we went camping. We took Noah camping 1 1/2 years ago and a storm came through that night too. It was a big storm with thunder and lightening and rain dripping right through our roof. So anyway, the guys made it all the way through the night, so it must not have been too bad.
Wednesday was such a nice day that we decided to have a picnic in the park with the Schneider’s. We had a great time. Noah and Kaiden played at the park for a long time. Apparently, we weren’t the only people who thought it was a nice day. There were tons of moms there with little boys. It was shocking how few girls were there out of all the children. And of course, lots of the boys had sticks to play with. We weren’t so sure that was a good idea. After play time we had our picnic. Yum yum.
Gabriel enjoyed his time at the park swinging. As you can see, we provided him with his own personal swing. He stayed awake the whole time and just enjoyed looking at the clouds, trees, sky, birds, and whatever else he could see.
I know I already posted this bath picture, but it was a good picture for comparison. Here’s Gabriel on the left and Noah on the right. What do you think?
Gabriel has learned how to smile in the last couple of weeks. It’s really cute as you can see. He’s also starting to “talk”. His little coos are very sweet. Unfortunately, the sweet baby smiles and coos are few and far between. We get far more crying.
Today was his two month check-up and inoculations. He did great, even though we had to wait a long time. He weighs 13 pounds 2 ounces (75%), and is 23 1/4 inches long (90%). He’s the size of an average three month old and he’s only two month old! He’s grown so much. He started out at 8 pounds 9 ounces and 20 inches. It’s amazing how quickly they grow.
Noah’s getting so big too. Potty training has gone relatively well this week. He’s at least trying to tell us when he needs to use the potty (even if we don’t always make it). This might be due to the fact that we took away all of his computer privileges until he goes poo-poo on the potty a lot of times. We didn’t set a specific number, just a lot. We also took away his trash truck toy (yes my son plays with a trash truck). He has already won this toy back by trying so hard this week.
OK, here goes. I think I’ve learned how to get video off my camera, onto my computer, and onto the web for your viewing pleasure. We took this video of Noah a couple of weeks ago, and I thought it was fun(ny). It’s a little bit long (about a minute and a half), but for those of you who enjoy the fun things toddlers say and do you’ll like the end. Enjoy!
Well, here’s a picture of the gang. In case it’s not clear… Robyn is a patient, Chris is a doctor, Ma is a hot dog, yes I said hot dog. Noah is a train engineer, and Gabriel is a ghost. Now, let me just say, nobody told ma she had to be a hot dog. She did that all by herself. The only person who even asked Ma about wearing a costume was Noah. Now that’s love.
Gabriel didn’t like having to wait to go Trick-or-Treating. And he let us know all about it. Of course, once we left the house, he fell asleep and stayed that way the whole time.
Noah and Gabriel posed for a picture before we left to go Trick-or-Treating. We were lucky to get that. Noah was very excited and ready to leave. In fact, if you look closely, you’ll notice that Noah doesn’t have any shoes on. He was so excited, that we left without them. Mama had to go back to the house to get them after we realized.
We had a great time. Noah got lots of candy (which he tried to finish immediately).
On Thursday, we carved our pumpkin for Halloween. It was lots of fun. Noah designated himself as the person who watches for the knife to make sure it goes all the way through. He did a great job.
After we got our pumpkin carved, we had to take it out on the porch and put a candle in it, of course. I guess Noah was trying to make a pumpkin face because we couldn’t get him to smile. Gabriel couldn’t have cared less about the pumpkins. The fan however is a different story.
