Pumpkin Fun

We headed over to the infamous Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls to check out the activities this year.  We’ve been hearing about how great this place is for the last couple of years and finally decided to check it out.  It lived up to its reputation.  It was a lot of fun.  Of course, it could have been more fun if it wasn’t so hot outside, but hey… we live in Texas.

They have an awesome maze for the kiddos there.  Noah loved it.  As soon as he ran in, he “attached” himself to some other children. They were playing a game of Marco Polo.  Noah played right along with them, even though he had no idea it was a game.  He believed they were looking for their friend, Marco.  Even after those kids left, he ran around looking for “Marco.”  It was pretty funny.  As you can see, Gabriel had a blast in the maze.  He went right to sleep.

There was also pumpkin painting.  Noah and Daddy made a really cool pumpkin.  Noah says he has a face, but I can’t see it.  I guess it’s nice to have an imagination.  And of course, there was a tractor that we just couldn’t miss getting on.  It didn’t go anywhere, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t fun.

A Big First

Today, Mama was upstairs doing laundry, and Noah was downstairs playing with a stamp book and working mazes.  When Mama came down to see his work, he had written his name.  He wrote the letters all by himself and with no motivation or guidance from anyone.  This is a big first.  I guess we’ll have to work on the concept of left to right, but I’m proud anyway.  Or maybe we should just change his name to Hano.

Mmmm… that was good.

Here are my boys with their content faces after a good drink.  Of course Gabriel had milk to drink and Noah had Kool-Aid.  Every time Gabriel gets done eating he makes that face and stretches.

All Aboard for Thomas the Train Fun

GiGi and Grandpa took Noah to Rusk, TX to ride on Thomas the Train.  What a trip!  Of course, everyone knows that Thomas the Train is Noah’s very favorite thing in the whole world.  If you don’t, then let us send Noah for a visit so we can get a break from hearing about it.  We can always use fresh ears.

As I’ve been told, an engine without a face pulled the train away from the station and Thomas brought it back because he knew the way.  And back at the station there was even more fun to be had.  Noah got to see Sir Topham Hatt, play in the bouncy house (which had a ladder and a slide, by the way), and make new friends playing with the trains on the train table.  You might not be able to tell from the pictures, but it’s a guarantee that Noah was talking to everyone he ran into (especially children) and letting them know everything there is to know about Thomas and his friends.

Good Times With GiGi

Gigi took Noah to the Zilker Botanical Gardens last week to see the dinosaurs.  Noah didn’t say, but it seems that he was the tour guide for the day.

And after the roaring good time seeing the dinosaurs they headed to Chuck E. Cheese for even more fun.

Gabriel’s First UT Football Game

We took Gabriel to his first Longhorn football game this weekend.  He is almost six weeks old.  As he does with most things, he slept through the majority of the game.  We just put some cotton balls in his ears (which kept falling out), stuck a hat on him, and bundled him up.  We had a great time.  Who wouldn’t at a game like that?  We just passed the baby around between us and people who sit around us.  He even had two feedings and three diaper changes right there in my lap.  That was way easier than taking him down to the restroom would have been.

Robert swears that he is perfectly comfortable holding Gabriel, but I’m not so sure.  Ma had the luxury of the harness carrier.

Here’s our little Longhorn in training.  I brought a UT hat with us, but it just wouldn’t stay on.

Gabriel liked the lights at the stadium more than anything else.  If his eyes were open, he was staring at them.

Gabriel wasn’t convinced that having his ears covered was a good thing. He would much rather have just listened to the noise at full volume.

Bottoms Up

Gabriel had his very first bottle tonight, and his big brother got to give it to him.  Noah thought it was pretty cool to actually get to feed “his baby”.  Gabriel really seemed to like it.  He went to town and finished it quickly.  He did give Noah a few strange looks though.
